What is the Lotus Coalition Community?

The Lotus Coalition Community was created to provide an easily accessible, free online hub for people and organizations to connect and work together to protect and strengthen US democracy and repair and rebuild US systems and institutions to serve all people equally and equitably.  We make it easy and fun to get involved no matter who you are, and to access the information, guidance, tools, and resources needed to mobilize in the short-term as well as for the long-term. 

We are in a critical moment, a tipping point, in the United States where we have to decide to stand up and stand together to tip the country back toward unity with peaceful and powerful resolve to understand and repair the root issues that brought us to this moment. 

It can appear that we don't always agree on what "better" means or how to get there, but when we organize and mobilize together, it becomes easier to create a common vision with common goals to achieve the outcomes the vast majority of us want to achieve. The Lotus Coalition Community is an online community that is designed to bring organizations and people together for that purpose.

You were invited to the Lotus Coalition Community because you matter, your values matter and you bring unique contributions to this moment. We cannot afford to be complacent and look to others to create the country we hope for because that is not how it's achieved. It requires us to be informed, organized, to stand up and stand together to tip the country back to the path forward, and for us to pave that path together with shared hope, shared vision, and shared goals. 

 We each play a role in building and protecting a healthy democracy. One of the most important components, and the starting place, is to become highly informed with factual, reliable credible information. This cannot be done by data gathered in soundbites, social media posts, random polls, and from opinion commentators and pundits that have replaced journalism and reliable news sources. The Lotus Coalition Community seeks to fill that gap.

The Lotus Coalition Community is Unique 

This is a place to meet lifelong friends, feel rooted in shared purpose and to celebrate the milestones and outcomes we achieve along the way. Unlike social media, this is a nontoxic community that fosters safe and healthy connections, discussions and debate. We do not allow the distribution of disinformation and propaganda. The community is structured to highlight facts, expertise and useful information. Plus, we have a lot of fun and inspire hope and excitement along the way!

This community brings forth experts across various fields of knowledge and expertise to help us clearly understand and solve core issues, (many of which we feel the symptoms of) and help us understand the resources and solutions available to us, as well as, our role in solving the issues that affect us. 

We meet you where you are and help organize and mobilize people based on their skill sets, schedules, and resources. We all play a role, and while we often see celebrities or people with wealth and/or large platforms at the center, they are just one part of a successful coalition where everyone contributes based on their unique knowledge, experiences, and skills.

We are community-builders and we will provide resources for you to contribute to building strong and healthy communities that forge greater unity and shared goals locally and across the country over the long-term..

You provide many options to get involved to help elect candidates that will protect and strengthen our democracy, as well as to rise above the noise, and reach voters in ways that help them align with their own best interests and that of our country. We can all reach others in various ways that matter regardless of our status, resources and platform.  

This community is an opportunity to combine the best parts of social media and together, create something even better. This community is not an echo chamber like “Truth Social” and other social media sites used to further the agenda of disinformation and propaganda. This is a coalition that is committed to equality and inclusion. That means giving everyone a seat at the table in working to protect and strengthen democracy, and US policies, systems and institutions so that we can solve the complex issues we face as individuals and as a country. 

In the community, you'll find engaging discussions, useful tools, a variety of activities to choose from, people and organizations who are leading the way, as well as, daily practices to recharge your mind, body and spirit. Our weekly calendar of events features people and organizations to help you take valuable action while meeting incredible people and working together to create a better present and future. 

No matter your schedule or skill set, everyone can find ways to connect and contribute in ways that work best for them and that when working together, create big impacts.

This community is very different from social media. We are committed to creating a nontoxic, fun, and interconnected community. We reserve the right to remove anyone who violates our Community Guidelines, Standards and Policies, and we will.  

The Lotus Coalition Community and the platform app the community is built on do not sell or distribute any of your information and we respect your privacy. The email you use to create your profile is used only for occasional contact regarding the community. The majority of the communication will take place in the community itself. There are no ads or bots.

Is this Community a Good Fit for You?

The community was built for everyone but not everyone will be a good fit for the community. 

Here are some guidelines to determine if it's a good fit for you.

• Everything we do is rooted in the foundations of valuing diversity, equality, equity, inclusion, honesty, integrity, bodily autonomy, and protections for human rights. We do our best to avoid using labels but you will find that this is a coalition and community dedicated to building alliances between people and organizations who are committed to moving the country forward in serving the best interests of all people. 

• We are solution and action-oriented.  There is a lot of work to do before the upcoming election in November, so you can easily find ways to get involved.  And you'll be able to track progress and share in the excitement and momentum of collective action. 

• No matter how busy you are, how politically involved you are, how much you do or don't know about democracy and how it works or what you can do to help - we will meet you where you are without judgment. We will help you connect with others and get involved in ways that will fuel your spirit and get you excited about what we can do when we all work together.

• If you are a subject matter expert or part of an organization working to protect rights, build peace, improve systems, elect progressive candidates, and/or strengthen democracy (anywhere in the world), please join the community and reach out to us in the community to discuss how we can work together.
